風化沙是指花崗巖變質巖或片麻巖，這種巖石具有易細碎的優點和抗壓強度低的缺點，被廣泛用于建設二類用沙。這種巖石結構普遍具有泥土和云母含量高的形式存在，所以在細碎后必須通過水洗和云母分離機去除雜質后方可用于建設用沙。
