AUGUST 30, 2017
We're within 24 hours of meaningful College Football. Here's a watch guide to every AAC game: when it is, who is favored, and where to watch it.
Florida International @ UCF (-17) - CBSSN / 6 PM CT (All Times Central)
UCF is a 17 point favorite. If you get CBSSN, you can check in on the Panthers, who we will see on the road.
Tulsa (+18) @ #10 Oklahoma State - Fox Sports 1 / 6:30 PM
The Golden Hurricane is an 18 point underdog. FTW Staff thinks Tulsa is underrated this year, and they could make a statement by hanging with an in-state power.
Holy Cross @ UConn - ESPN3 / 6:30 PM
FCS game, but Huskies have been played these extremely close the last three years. Best pitch I have for it is that you'll see the new Edsall era for the first time, and maybe it doesn't come down to the wire?
ULM @ Memphis (-25.5) - CBSSN / 8 PM
The Tigers are a heavy, heavy favorite.
Navy (-9) @ Last Chance FAU - ESPNU / 7 PM
Watch this game. First, we play them the week after. Second, FAU is a trendy upset pick, at least with the points. The line started at Navy -14.5. I don't buy it. Expect Navy to get it done on national TV, and the Owls to still be the Owls for now.
Temple (+17.5) @ Notre Dame - NBC / 2:30 PM
This is the kind of game that is interesting if you are an AAC fan. The Owls are replacing a lot, especially on offense, but they have an energetic new coach. The Golden Domers are trying to not be bad at football this year. I'll rate my excitement between a four and an eight on the scale.
Stony Brook @ #19 South Florida - ESPN3 / 3 PM
Football will be played. Moving on.
James Madison @ East Carolina - ESPN3 / 5 PM
I'll have this game on. Before they took it off, JMU was actually favored over ECU as they get paid several hundred thousand dollars to come to the eastern regions of Carolina. I believe they had some players suspended though. We'll see what ECU looks like after a very disappointing 2016.
SFA @ SMU - ESPN3 / 6 PM
5-6 FCS team comes to Dallas. No thanks.
Grambling State @ Tulane - ESPN3 / 7 PM
The biggest game in NOLA that night. Grambling State is a credible FCS team, holding a #21 preseason ranking and coming off a 2016 season where they nearly smoked Arizona before their QB got injured (but finished 12-1). The sketchy offshore folks have this as an 18 point Tulane favorite. If the Wave covers, I think that's a pretty good sign for the year ahead.
No UTSA and Houston this week due to the flooding, as the Coogs have had to set up shop at UT (we know that drill, right?). Shout out to our Houston friends and S&H Pawdcast amigos and sending our thoughts your way.
