DECEMBER 15, 2017
Coming off a huge week (with four commits), Tulane's recruiting class now stands at 20. You can read a recap of last weekend's action here.
Coach Fritz and his staff are not done though, as they are bringing in a star-studded group for the final weekend before Early Signing Day on Dec. 20.
The Green Wave has several spots left to work with, and there are some big fish in the mix at positions of need. With the recruiting class up to 4th in the AAC according to 247, things are getting really good.
Here's who will be on hand.
1: Nik Hogan - Northwest Rankin, MS (3-star OL)
Hogan is a long-time Tulane commit who picked the Wave over an impressive offer list that included Kentucky and Mississippi State.
2: Jason Swann - St. Thomas Aquinas, FL (3-star OL)
Swann, along with Hogan, is one of the Wave's highest rated commits. That's great at a position of need. His Florida program has produced some big time talent at the college level including the Ohio State's Bosa brothers.
3: Jamiran James - De La Salle, LA (3-star DL)
This DL recruiting class looks to be one of the best in recent memory, for sure. James, along with Jeffery Johnson and Davon Wright, look to replenish a line that has lost veteran talent.
4: Amare Jones - Heritage, TX (3-star RB)
Jones has been a vocal member of this recruiting class while putting up video game numbers as a QB for his Texas program. Jones hit a snag with a late season injury, but last we heard, he expects to be back for his high school baseball season this year.
5: Macon Clark - Destrehan, LA (DB)
Clark has been with the Wave since early November out of Destrehan. He held offers from Troy, Texas State, and ULL but chose the Wave.
6: Jorien Vallien - Alexandria, LA (3-star WR)
Vallien was a recent commit to the Green Wave, and he was a big one. The Alexandria talent had offers from Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Vandy, and many more.
7: Despelado Alexandre - Deerfield Beach, FL (3-star OL & Georgia State commit)
Alexandre is a Florida talent with along offer list. He's a current commit to the Panthers, but OL remains a position of need. A flip would be another win to strengthen a line where there's ample opportunity to break through.
8: Damien Tate - Warren Easton, LA (3-star CB & McNeese St. commit)
Would really like to see Tulane pull in a talented CB to finish off this class, and Tate would fit the bill. Tate is a current McNeese St. commit, but the 247 experts like his chances to UTSA. That said, would be a win to convince him to come to Uptown.
9: Julon Williams - Converse, TX (3-star QB & Houston commit)
Wasn't expecting this one. Williams is a Houston commit out of Texas but has been a target for several Big 12 programs, including TCU, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State. The staff looks at him as a quarterback instead of a WR, and his skill set looks like a natural fit for the Fritz offense.
10: JaQuon Griffin - Rome, GA (3-star DE/DL)
Griffin is a recent LSU decommit who also holds offers from Tennessee and many more. He's uncommitted, and he looks to be destructive as a DT. The staff pulled off a major win with Jeffery Johnson last week -- getting Griffin on board would be another major boon.
11: Travon King - Woodrow Wilson, NJ (3-star DE/LB & Rutgers commit)
We got ourselve a New Jersey prospect here. That's not as surprising when you see that his coach is a former Tulane player. Great work there to Coach Preston. King is a Scarlet Knights commit, and he projects as a defensive end or linebacker for the college game.
12: Donte Martin - Oxnard, CA (CB)
Martin is a cornerback out of California who holds an offer from San Jose State. Uncommitted.
13: Lichon Terrell - Hogansville, GA (3-star DT & WKU commit)
Terrell is another important DT target with a long offer list. He's been committed t Western Kentucky since July and will make his first visit to Tulane.
14: Brayden Willis - James Martin, TX (3-star TE)
Willis is an uncommitted Tight End but holds offers from Arizona, Colorado State, UConn and more.
15: Chris Joyce - Dutchtown, GA (DB)
Joyce is uncommitted but holds offers from FAU, Central Michigan, and more.
16: Ygenio Booker - Brooksville, FL (ATH)
Booker is a smaller prospect at 5'9" with serious speed. He's uncommitted but holds offers from Georgia Southern and Troy.
17: Sydney Brown - Bradenton, FL (DB)
Brown is another Florida prospect who will be on hand. He's a safety out of Bradenton.
